As Poole Methodists, we have committed ourselves to loving God, following Jesus and serving our community. One of the ways we do all three of these is by ensuring that The Spire is a safe, warm and accessible place that is open to all.
In our community café, Wesley’s, we see families, older people and many others who are struggling or “just about managing”. As the cost of living crisis bites, especially in the cold and dark of Winter, places like Wesley’s are becoming increasingly important for the physical and mental health of so many.
Wesley's always has been a place to get a warm welcome and reasonably-priced food. I am pleased to say that we have now secured some public funding under the Food & Warmth initiative (via BCP Council and Dorset Community Foundation)that will enable us to go a step further.
From Monday to Saturday in Wesley's we will be able to expand the three initiatives we already operate, which are:
Please feel free to mention these three schemes to anyone you think might appreciate some support. Wesley's Community Café, and these offerings, are a central part of our mission as Poole Methodists to show God's love to those around us.
We are enormously grateful that many of you already support this work all year round. Thank you!
