The Methodist Learning Network is offering a free online training session designed to support anyone involved in pastoral care and visiting within the church community.
“What is a visit?” is part of the “Who Cares?” pastoral care training series and explores how pastoral visits can be carried out safely, compassionately and confidently. The session is aimed at both new and experienced pastoral carers, providing practical guidance alongside space for reflection and discussion.
Pastoral visiting is often one of the most important ways churches care for people, but it can also raise questions and challenges. This training will look at issues such as:
Participants will also explore how churches can work together to create clear pathways of care and shared responsibility within pastoral teams.
The event takes place online and lasts approximately two hours, making it accessible for volunteers and church teams across the Connexion. Churches are encouraged to attend together where possible, helping strengthen local pastoral support and understanding.
This training forms part of the wider “Who Cares?” pastoral care programme from the Methodist Learning Network, which offers a range of resources and events to equip churches in caring ministry.
