Nine young people from our Circuit Youth Group joined more than 1,700 children and young people aged 4 to 18 for “The Journey of a Lifetime” — the theme of 3Generate 2025, the Methodist Children and Youth Assembly held at the NEC, Birmingham from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October.
Here are just a few reflections on an amazing weekend together:
Rosie Hale – God Squad Helper
“What a weekend! The young people were so excited and, thanks to their parents, all arrived on time at the various pick-up points on Friday teatime. The coach driver was speedy and we arrived safely at the NEC in time for supper and an opportunity to explore. The site was bigger and better than last year — something for everyone over the weekend!”
Activities included:
Very little sleep was had by anyone over the weekend and it was a much quieter trip home on the coach on Sunday afternoon! My favourite thing….. seeing the young people deepening their friendships, looking after each other and having so much fun!
Genesis Padgett – Methodist Youth President
“It was a tremendous thrill to see all the young people come into the hall on Friday evening. They had travelled from all corners of the Connexion — some, including those from the southwest and Scotland, had been on the road for many hours but all were super excited. For those who were new to the event, the size of the venue can be mind-blowing. Not including the accommodation, the 3Generate event fills six hangar-sized halls at the NEC!”
Clara K – God Squad Member
“I really liked 3Generate because of the places there were and the movie that we watched. The godly play was great because of the things that she did.”
Harry H – God Squad Member & First-Timer
“I really enjoyed 3Generate. It allowed me to meet people from all over the country who related to me and had the same interests. I also really enjoyed learning more about God through the Bible studies, help sessions, and talks. The event really helped me connect with others, learn more about God, and find out more about what I believe. Everyone was super welcoming and lovely — I would definitely go again!”
Kate White – God Squad Leader
A huge thank you to all the young people, leaders, and parents who made this incredible weekend possible. It truly was a journey of a lifetime!
