"God Squad" An update on the Circuit Youth Group

Rounders in Hamworthy Park – Summer 2022

The young people of the Circuit Youth Group have chosen, by a very democratic process, to call themselves "God Squad" and we continue to welcome new members.

Group members were pleased to be able to help staff the Welcome Desk for the Circuit Day of Prayer at The Spire in mid-May. Other activities we have enjoyed include:

• Pancake making and tossing during Lent
• Making ice cream sundaes
• Painting/etching pebbles
• Taking part via Zoom in the Circuit Service
• Frantic table football competitions (where the helpers are routinely defeated by the young people!)
• Some seriously competitive table tennis on our new table!
• Outdoor games on the green behind The Spire, including one based on the Trinity!
• A visit from Karen James who led our God Slot for us and joined in with our running around games – well done, Karen
• A beach barbecue at Hamworthy Park, with rounders and s'mores (barbecued marshmallows, sandwiched between chocolate biscuits).
• Biscuit decoration
• Loo-roll junk-modelling transformation

Our "God Slots" have included:

• A discussion on how we talk about our Christian beliefs when asked by others, and how religion is taught at school
• A trail around The Spire, with clues linked to various parts of the building and their significance in worship/church life

We continue to meet fortnightly on Sundays in term-time, 6:00-7:30pm at The Spire in Hall 1.

• 6th November
• 20th November
• 4th December

If you have any children 11-16 or about to turn 11 in your churches, do get in touch - they would be very welcome to join God Squad.
