Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – Launch Night!

The Methodist Church is committed to 'Justice, Dignity and Solidarity'. We believe that all people are uniquely made in the image of God, and we aim to live this out in the Church and in our communities. To celebrate the rich diversity of people within the Methodist Church, and to ensure that all can be full participants in the life of the Church.

Part of this commitment is to strive to have an EDI Champion in each District, to advise, enable and equip churches and circuits as they ensure these key principles are embedded into everything we do – always striving to be a fair, inclusive church.

In the Southampton District we would like to create an EDI team – a group of people passionate about these issues to share the work, and to support each other as they give support to our churches and circuits across the District.

You are invited to a zoom gathering in the first instance, to find out more and see if this is something you would like to be a part of from the start.

• Launch night – Thursday 29th September 7-9pm:

A Zoom session for us to introduce the topic, and to hear your stories, sharing openly in a safe environment. To unpack the Report to Conference and to learn what's needed and what's possible.

No obligation or commitment at this stage, just come along to find out more! To help us discern what we need to do, by sharing your experiences.

If you decide after the zoom session that you would like to be involved, we hope to gather together in person to see how we move forward, establishing a district team and support.
Food will be available from 6.30pm, meeting starts at 7pm.
