Bournemouth Methodist Church @ Trinity, Southbourne is our full name, but everyone knows us as Trinity.
Formally called Southbourne Methodist Church, we were renamed when our fellowship and Punshon Memorial Methodist joined together and the building was altered and facilities improved.
We can be found at The Grove end of Southbourne Road, just behind The Green. Trinity is one of the four Mission Centres which make up Bournemouth Methodist Church and we also belong to the Churches Together in Southbourne partnership.
Trinity's Mission Statement
To have God's heart for people and truly love each other so the church family is built up in preparation for loving those who will join us. Be devoted to one another in love.
This Mission Statement was adopted in early 2019. Our love for each other also shows itself in our love for others and support for the foodbank, BCARS Sleepsafe and other projects locally and beyond.
Though the building is currently closed for worship because of Covid-19, we use technology to share Sunday Worship with other churches in the Poole Bay Methodist Circuit. We also use Zoom for Bible Study, Prayer Meetings and get-togethers after worship on Sundays. Our Boys' Brigade and Girls' Association (BBGA) Company also meet virtually each week, complying with safeguarding good practice.
Unfortunately, the virus has prevented most of our Community Partners from meeting at Trinity and we look forward to a time when the building can be in use again. Trinity Toddlers, Dorset Mind and SMILE ladies, activities for the under-5s, sporting and fitness groups, Southbourne Literary Society and the Sequence Dancing group, music and drama groups could regularly be found at Trinity, and our Wesley Hall has been a popular venue for children's birthday parties.
