Congregation

We are a small Church with an elderly, friendly congregation. We work with the local Anglican Church and have United services on the 3rd Sunday of each month, alternating between the Churches. We also have a wider ecumenical relationship which includes the Lighthouse Church when we use the Village Hall for combined village worship.

Church History

A Society was formed in 1778 by John Parsons. He also donated land for the first building which was constructed in 1824 and had a thatched roof. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by fire in 1850. A new building was erected in the same site and opened in 1853, being extended at the front in 1910. The construction methods have been made visible in the vestry.

Services

During the Covid-19 pandemic there is a live streamed service from the Parish Church and led by the Vicar Rev Stephen Partridge at 9:30am each Sunday and available thereafter.

On the 3rd Sunday of the month Methodists are involved with Rev Karen James preaching (usually). Stephen conducts the services from his shed/summer house.

• Sunday service at 10:00am (3rd Sunday united with St Mary's – alternating)
• Wednesday – 10:30am to 12 noon Coffee Morning
• Last Wednesday of the month – Lunch Club open to all run Ecumenically with proceeds for Charity.
• Friday 7:30pm Churches in Harmony Choir practice are usually held in the Methodist church. This is an Anglican and Methodist Choir and lead singing at various services in the village
